Havent been over here in a while.. Not sure why not, seems like whenever I want good info (LLY swaps, tranny, ect) this is the place. Anyways... Back on topic..

So looking for a little more ground clearance for the land yacht (CCLB). Every now and then I drag some frame cresting hills on the ranch. Anyways, use the truck as my daily driver, also does hauling and towing. Was thinking about a 4" lift to keep the angles good, and hopefully not destroy my ride quality.

If I am concerned with drivability (ride comfort, towing performance) am I barking up the wrong tree looking to do a lift? I really do like the look of a slightly lifted truck and could use the slight increase in ground clearance. I don't plan on running huge tires, most likely 285/75r16's (33's).

Then on the subject of lifts, hard to decide which brand. Looking at the Cognito NTBD, RCD or the BDS.. Anything make one better than the other in terms of strength or ride quality, or?

On the rear, was thinking about doing the Deaver 2 mini pack, and with the 4" in the front Im guessing would get me level... Or do blocks?

FYI, if it matter I already have Kryptonice UCA's on the truck...

You don't need a lift to run 285s even 315 if your not afraid to take a sawzall to it. A 4" lift will make these truck a lot less work friendly when it comes to getting stuff in and out of the bed.

I'm running 35's on a stock LMM and ran it on my LLY, I ended up lowering my LLY with them and cutting the fender lip off to get some ride back.

I'd do a lift, the only reason I don't is stricter inspections in my state, which means hi DPF and by by dark windows, not happening.

If you're gonna lift it don't be cheap, CTS is a good option and look into bulletproofing your front end eventually

I think a 4" rancho with tall skinny tires like 255/85r16 on stock wheels would look really good on a cclb

RCD is a good kit if you want one to hold up the abuse. I'd choose between RCD and Cognito for quality wise. My RCD has held up very well over the years. The only issue is to change the sway bar links to the cognito style in the RCD kit. I've broken too many bolts in the RCD sway bar link from extreme flexing.

Anybody know anything about the ProComp lifts?

Local offroading shop has a black friday sale on ProComp lifts. Can get the 6" (which I would set to 4") for $200 off, no tax and half off install. So basically I would be a little over $2000 out the door....

Damn that's a deal

Kinda my thought, as long as its a quality lift I think thats the route I might go. I am storing my parents boat, plus i have my boat, 8 motorcycles, my nova, my Rhino, so I cannt cement the shop i built, and I really dont wanna work on crushed rock, not to mention I dont have the space..... So much easier to drop the truck off at a shop and have them install and align....

I'm pretty happy with my leveling kit and my CV angles really are not bad at all. I spent a lot of $$, but my ride quality actually got better with Dmax store's kryptonite front end in conjunction with a leveling kit by them. If you do opt to go this route, make sure you buy the cam bolt kit as it was a must to try to get the alignment as close to normal as possible. I also changed out the swaybar endlinks as well. I currently run 285's until I run out of rubber.
