I’m going to be installing a used titan tank here soon on my lmm. At the same time I was going to do a sump. Where is everyone putting the sumps on the titan tanks?

You should wait until S&B releases their tanks. They have some very innovative features including built in sumps.

I agree for new purchases. S&B is really stepping the game up, IMO better feature set and they are quite a few bucks cheaper.

Spare tire delete?

my truck is wonky. i changed the d/s shock to mount to the rear of the axle and have a 7 gallon tank, compressor and k3la horn. i dont have my spare though so it is likely the spot that will go.

i just hate the little gas tank they put in these. even with decent mpg you cant get far on the tank.

im a bit worried about the weight it will add, my suspension is very soft and needs helper bags with any load over a few hundred pounds.

ill post if i end up doing it , im already sumped with lift pump, so the s and b looks like the best ticket for me, i already have a matching cai.

EDIT- they will be available next week FYI

Probably not bad at all since it’s still a level, it would depend on how S&B developed the fluid levels of the tank.

Well I unfortunately it’s a little too late to wait out for the S&B one seeing how I got a titan one already and a beans sump. I picked up the titan tank used for 500 bucks which I thought was a pretty good price. So if anyone has opinions on where to put the sump, I’m all ears.

Your thread most definitely got hijacked and didn't stay on topic at all. I have no idea about the titans, but someone here should if they can stop talking about the S&B. (even though they have my attention)

Sorry, I missed the part where he said he already purchased a tank and sump in the original post and was just trying to help point out a better alternative.

To the OP, you should install the sump directly below the fuel module just like you would do on a stock tank.

Well in your defense I didn’t say in the OP that I already had the stuff. That being said I wish I asked around about bigger tanks before I bought this stuff.

Also I’m fine with my thread getting highjacked, that’s how you learn about stuff

I have a titan on my 15, I did a fass 165 and fass sump at the same time. I put the sump right under the sending unit and drilled holes in the sending unit cup and cut the bottom 1/8” off to make sure the fuel got into the sump without problem. The sending unit cup sits on top of the bolts in the sump as well so fuel has free roam over the sump without restriction. It happened this way and the factory tank calibration is actually pretty close gauge wise, just on the dash the miles to empty is off but that never bothered me anyways. I regret doing the titan tank and sump. With anything less then 1/4 tank when you slow down the fass looses prime when the fuel sloshes to the front of the tank. Ive yet to have the truck stall out as I try not to get below 1/4 tank, but seeing the fass pressure gauge drop to .2-.6 psi sure makes you nervous. I didn’t gain the extra 24 gallons or so, I may have gained 10-15 at most because at 1/4 tank I put in aprox 38 gallons. Just above 1/8 tank the fass starts changing sound and I’m able to squeak in 43 gallons but you’re basically running on hopes and dreams at that point. Hind sight I should have done the fass 95 made for the lml trucks and no sump with the titan tank and maybe I’d be able to use more of the 58 gallons I paid for. Food for thought on what to do and not to do.
