Looking for input from you all. 09 lmm, Currently running 305/50/20 on all 4 corners on a stagger wheel setup. 20x9's in the front and 20x10's in the back. Wheels sit perfect even and I don't have to run spacers. My truck is lowered, stock keys no bolts and currently the tires hit the fender like crazy. Don't really want to trim anymore and would like to lower it another 1" with drop keys I have. Was thinking of running 275/40/20 on the front and 315/35/20 on the rear in either another set of 420's or the 555r2. Tires are 28.66" tall, I don't want two sets of wheels again so I will run these street and strip. Anyone run a similar setup? The truck makes north of 1k, I threw it in a calculator and picked 130mph trap in 5th it would cross me at roughly 4100RPM in the 1/4. It ran 118-120mph with the stock motor and different setup, how bad would I be screwing myself with such a small tire?

Are your front tires poking out the fenders? I have 305/50/20 NorCal fender mod. I am running djm lowering lower control arms and that brought the tires in a bit, I have zero rubbing

So I went with a 275/40/20 front and 315/35/20 back. They couldn't get the front in spec. It's lowered with no bolt in the keys. Now I want to drop in down another 1-2". What does everyone prefer? Spindles or control arms? Also how crazy are your cv angles going this low? I still race the truck

Sean had drop shackles and front hangers as well as lca’s and different keys up front. I think half ton keys? I know I have them cranked when I brought the truck back up. Cv angles weren’t too bad, and probably flattened out going down the track. This is how it sat when I bought it with 305/50-20’s

I like that look, couldn't go that low on the 09 with the more square wheel wheels without some serious trimming with the 305's.

What is better the spindles for the front or the lower control arms? Also for the back will I be able to use my caltracs with drop hangers?

I went with DJM lower arms. It does narrow the front end some. I kinda want to go back to stock lower control arms and do spindles but I’m worried I won’t get the alignment where I want it. I like to run -1 camber and 4.8 caster.
I just moved my factory hangers up so I can use Caltracs. If I remember right you can get drop hangers for a long bed and still use Caltracs

I have had a good run McGaughy's spindles, drop hangers and cal-tracs. 200k miles, no weird tire wear or anything. Even pulling a 7k Lb tool trailer across the nation from time to time. I also ran the Nitro 305/50/20.
FYI, the smallest wheel you can run withe spindles are a 17".

That's no problem I'm running a 20" wheel so they will clear. I was worried about the rear front spring hangers just don't want to lose my cal tracs. I'm thinking about going with the caltrac rear leaf spring also when I redo everything. Right now I'm running rear hangers with only 2 rear leafs
