I bought this truck last winter cause I wanted to do a rcsb. A lot of people been asking me why not buy a reg cab long box. The reason I did not is I got this truck for 4000 and clean short box beds around here bring really good money. Plus I need a good project. Yesturday I bought the cab witch took me forever to find a clean one with no rust or dings. This ones off a 06 1500. Yes more work but oh well. So now the fun begins. If anyone has any pointers or tips please throw them at me. I have a lot of learning going on. Heres some pics.

I always wanted to see someone build an extended cab with the 5.5 foot super short bed like this. You've got a great start :thumb: Either way great project.

Everything is going great. Got the old cab off. Got the complete dash put into the new cab. Its ready to be set back on. Got the drive shaft, exhaust, fuel line and lift pump off. Had some small issues with the gasser cab but got her took care of. Planning on doing frame work Friday after work.

I can not either. 22 3/4 inches shorter is a lot. Glad I can get rid of this 2 piece drive shaft crap. :woott:

Looks like your taking a plenty good Duramax and swapping cabs for no reason. Interested to see the finished project anyway. :thumb:

sell me the wheels!

Ok. I want some 18s anyways

Like said above. I want the rcsb set up for one. For two I want to loose the weight. I'm thinking this is going to drop at least 400 pounds. If the truck had low miles it would not to be worth it to me.

I think its cool as hell. For the strip anyhow. Why not do it if u have the ambition. There are tons of ec/sb out there, why not be different. I to agree with above, do an ss. The way gm should have made one.
