Hey guys

I recently got my new tunes from rob after getting my trans built. It really woke the truck up but it seems to be running hot on the EGTs (holds 1630' after 40mph) and smokes still after i build boost till about 50mph. This is on my 230 tune

I did the air box mod but im wondering if i need to upgrade to an aftermarket intake. May be that's why it gets so warm and smokes. Should i think about getting a DP also?

Any input would be much appreciated

An intake wont really help lower your egt's. Your stock setup can support all your stock turbo can flow. That said an intake couldnt hurt lol

High egt's are just the result of maxing out the stock turbo's potential.

So you're saying i need a larger or more turbos.......hmm alright sounds good to me hahaha

basically. But then you end up adding more fuel for your new found air, then you're back in the same boat.

1600* is okay for drag racing in burst where you are only WOT for 15-20 seconds.

High sustained egts (towing heavy with alot of fuel) is what melts shit down.

So do not be scared when you are playing with the power and see high egt's. My truck wraps the 1600* gauge and the needle points downwards by the time i run WOT through the gears.

1600 after 40mph. I would check to make sure your truck is holding rail pressure. Uppipes and downpipe will drop your EGT's

I quit looking at my gauge in my lb7. I would peg 1700 easy. You can flash them fairly high on egt, but sustained 1350 is the max. It's like running you hand past a flame or holding it over it. It's no secret which one will cause damage.
