Yes, Dennis is a salesman. He is nice to anyone who he can get something from.
That's not intended as an insult, it's just an observation. Classic example was the "Banks Lynching" threads. Dennis (and his Klingons) were all over Team Banks like flies on fresh dung. Then Banks offered him something, I forget what, and it was "I have always liked and admired the Banks Team", and his Klingons went out shopping for wedding gifts.
It was actually sickening like a soap-opera love scene.
And Banks was just the most visible example. He was spooning Cole until the Trans Fiasco, then stole the blankets and kicked him out of bed. Seems Dennis claimed race-only transmissions weren't legal if installed on a Dmax, but are perfectly legal if a goathead is glued to the truck, or something like that.
The things I've read Dennis standing up for are truly bizarre like:
Locking up your brakes at the 1000' marker is how professional bracket racing is done.
Threatening the track workers if you don't like their decision is how professionals act.
etc, etc, etc.
