Side note after seeing korys video on df this morning running 10's I'm tempted to keep the Allison.

What are you doing with that transmission. I would love to have a spare. Honda riders truck is close to 5000 pounds maybe a 2wd you could get it under 5k pounds?

Thats what I would shoot for. Strip it out like his and have a fun track truck. Cruize the streets to of course.id like to see that record broken by someone. I know these trucks can shift we just need some more out on the strip trying.

I really don't know what I'm doing with it. I bought it over a year ago with the intentions of swapping it in place of the Allison. I've had thought of getting rid of the truck, thoughts of building my Allison, and come pretty close a couple times to purchasing a clutch to install it. If you want to send me an offer with what it might be worth to you feel free to do so. It is brand new still strapped to the pallet and wrapped with shrink wrap. It may sway me to decide to install it or build my Allison.

U mind me asking where got it from?

I was searching and someone gave me the name of someone else who had it. It was a performance shop that did high end car transmission builds. I can probably find out better but it's been a year and I really don't remember.

Just stock zf though. I'm pretty serious about acquiring a 2 wheel drive maybe in the next few months. I don't think I'll have the money to get a crew cab to that time so I'll just get something that willdo it a little easier

I know the 2wd rule for Super street is 5000lbs in the NHRDA. I still have to call Mr. Cole and talk to him on a few things. I will use any transmission I can build stout enough and shift right IMO.

All this reminds me I need to have the machine shop at work cut a transmission holding plate so I can mount it on the engine stand to rebuild! Thanks for talking transmissions lol. Too much going on I tell ya!

Like a max or minimum of 5000 pounds? Can I get on nhrda and look up the rules?
and is that with or without the driver?

Without driver I would assume. Oh well I can add weight in the rear to run nhrda. Plus it wont be a deticated specific class build. Classes limit potential.

All rulebooks include driver weight usually regardless of motorsport. Yes you should be able to look at their regs they are on a PDF file on the website. The Comp Eliminator (NHRA) class etc with indexes I believe are a little more free of 'limitations'. What are you thinking that may limit your truck build?

I wont nessesarily be limited. But say if I get under the 5000 pound mark then im at the bottom of the next class. If I dont want to be at the bottom of the next class im limited on how much weight I can strip. I know it keeps it fair for compitition its just the idea.

Everyone will be at the bare minimum because they want to be the quickest. Reducing weight is free horsepower just as easy as changing to a better engine/trans/diffy lubricant. Its just where you put or keep the weight to transfer properly and accelerate as quick as possible.

Im not sure if I want to give up my crew cab. But at the same time im so sure I want a 2wd. Problem is I want one with similar mods done to it and no one has one

Yeah I know the feeling, kinda the same thing when I painted my 70 Nova Summer Green with red tipped flames in highschool. Make your own rep by doing your thing.
