Whats The Verdict on B.O.V's ? I had one on my old Turbocharged Gasser Z-71 and Really loved the sound as well as the Turbo protection .

Why dont our trucks come with em?

Who makes a kit for ours thats reasonably priced?

Loved the TIAL BOV i used to have.

Thanks!

Like this? I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yeah, thats what im talkin bout, Im not paying 600 bones for a BOV.

So what did you use to hook up yours? What PSI range BOV do you have?

I hooked up the BOV on my old truck, but it had a nice flanged piece for the BOV to mount to, guess i'll need to fab one up ?

I forget where the vaccuum hose off the the top of the BOV goes,

A digram for a duramax install would be appreciated.

And again how do you like it and any sound clips??

Oh! Let me tell you! At 50psi and it goes off, it lets every one know.
Yes, I used a Tial 50mm, a spool valve from BD, and a voltage switch from Jaycar (P/N 5377 assembled). I did a write up in here some where. I can't remember which thread though.
It has the softest spring you can get (I think it's a 7lb). I had another method pressented to me the other day which is very interesting with less parts (much cheaper if it works). It's not tested to my knowledge though so it will have to go through this process. I'm not at liberty to say yet though (someone elses idea which I hold in confidence). We'll see how it pans out. As you can see. It's mounted as close as possible to the turbo. However anywhere on the pre I/C pipe will do. You will need the aluminum flange to weld it to this. It's a slight pain, but it's been worth its weight in gold for saving the turbos from barking.

how much vacum is needed to open a bov ? any egr equiped truck has a vacum pump would just need to figure a way to control it . just a thought

I've heard of people running drive pressure into the top of a BOV and using that to hold it closed. When drive pressure drops significantly below boost, it allows the valve to open. I think there is a little tuning with different springs involved, but it would be much cheaper than the other alternatives out there if it works.

My main concern was to protect from turbo bark i sometimes get when doing a Burnout and letting off to fast.

and yes, i like the sound, Definitley not doing it to be like a Ricer.
