I have decided to take the plunge and set my truck up for a bit faster racing. Looking to move into the consistent 10.7-10.9 range. At my current weight that will require around 1050 for each pass. I started out wanting to build the truck and never have to do it again.

A little history....

Built in 2011. By end of the year had a nasty tick that wouldn't go away.
motor gone through beginning of 2012, tick gone.
Break a piston at world finals in Texas, towed trailer home with it anyway.
New build for 2013. Break crank at world finals in Texas.
2014 going through motor again. runs all year and is still running, but doesn't feel right so gone through again at beginning of 2015.
Race entire season of 2015. Ran awesome still running with no issues.

So I decide to have it torn down and redone beginning of 2016. I think I see a pattern here.

I will try and keep people updated as the new motor is done with several upgrades. Bigger injectors, bigger pumps and a bigger turbo. I am shooting for 1200-1300 on fuel and 1500 with some nitrous....

Biggest problem I will have is the air. While I will be going much bigger with the atmosphere charger, I am staying with the Danville 72 stg2r.

We shall see.....

This came out of my bosses mouth so many times when he would hear that my truck kept breaking down. I finally bought a house and now I'm building my engine again. He thinks I'm out of my mind. :roflmao:

Well, I have a house and it is as much a pain as my truck. I will just wait for the in-laws to die. They have 13 rentals that will have to go somewhere. In the mean time I will have fun with the truck. I think the LLY will get the old rods and pistons out of the LBZ so I can go back to towing with real power instead of 400hp.

IT IS A SICKNESS....

The scary part is adding up the money I have spent on fuel in the last 11 years. Lets just say I paid 60k for my house and I could have got a lot more for the fuel I've burned.

They say do what makes you happy. Trucks still put a smile on my face every day. Even the old and slow 350k mile LLY. Shortly I will have to do another shout out thread to all those that have made this possible. There are a lot of great individuals and companies that came through for me when I needed it.

My problem is to many things make me happy... Gotta have a fun truck to drive and play with but it's gotta pull a camper and four wheeler and then gotta have fishing and hunting equipment but I can't give up my guitar habits... I might as well flush all my money and rig up a catch can for it in the sewer system. Only way I'll have retirement money

Just have to make sure I don't piss the Wife off. She's the money maker in the family with a retirement plan that makes me want to not work anymore. :D
