It does seem bad when I read it, but they might be biased. I suppose it would make sense to have a force like that for disaster response, because a regular police force isnt going to cut it when half the town is looting stores (although reports from the coast say crime rate is down). Besides, thats what I thought the National Guard was for???

You know how those people in washington love power.

This is because Bamster knows full well there ar 80 million or so gun owners and the Military won't go against the citizens, so he is gutting the military and building his own army.

My money is that just prior to the 2016 elections he declares martial law and installs himself as a dictator.

Or it could be like the cluster of Katrina, where my friends who are air force rescue where down there in the ghetto watching all that crap go down, and almost got into gunfights with them. Either way draw a line in the sand, and hold the govt to it. I'm guessing lots of red blooded Americans will be part of that group also, so if they outright said we are taking all freedoms that organization would be no different than any other where many would not put up for it.
Hold the government accountable, but only believe 10% of what you read (from both sides)

Oh no, first he's a socialist and now he's becoming a dictator. If he gets a third term he'll raise to the level of demi god. After that who knows.

Do you understand what a socialist is? His policies fall in line with them, that's a fact. What is up for debate is if that is good for the country or not. I think some ideas the socialist come up with are good, but I am still very for capitalism, and believe that we should lean more that way than we are now

I believe you missed the sarcasm in my statement based on the ridiculousness of this article. I'm very aware what a socialist is and I'm also very aware that capitalism ran wild is directly what led to sub prime mortgages being repackaged and sold by investment banks under false pretenses and that's what destroyed our economy. Perhaps if the Glass–Steagall Act had not been removed we wouldn't all be in this mess in the first place. That's the type of unregulated capitalism that can ruin an entire economy. It only takes a few people willing to take advantage of capitalism unethically to screw everybody else.

Disaster response.... it keeps getting mentioned as one of the main reason forhe FEMA installation of "kid soldiers"?

Im sorry, i have fought fires on a fire line, i have helped ward off flood waters from consuming buildings and homes, and i have watched enough real disaster response situations on the news in my lifetime to say this with certainty
never in my own experience or what i have witnessed on television during a "disaster" was there a need for an assault rifle. And make no mistake, these guys are being trained to handle a high powered weapon, now ask yourself why?

I think the disaster these guys are being trained for is not that of a natural occurrence.

I will be able to say, even if death finds me in my sleep tonight, i lived a full and exciting life.
I took chances, I've made big mistakes, and i have had great triumphs.
I have never met anyone that has done as much as i have, with as little to show for it, if that makes any sense, life has always been about the moment, the experience.

I live for thrills and constantly seek out life on my own terms. It's not a life for everyone fer sure. Ask my wife someday...

I too thought that's what you guys had the Nat Guard for.

The idea of having a bunch of extra people trained and on the payroll to work in disaster situations helping with clean-up, and helping restore power/water/heat to people isn't a terrible idea. Lots of kids these days need some extra direction anyways. I guess they want them trained with arms to help maintain order in these disaster zones when there is a mob of angry people looting and burning shit but again, WTF is the Nat Guard for?????

It wasn't handled very well in Katrina with all the looting that went on, but I still think this sort of program is very dangerous
