I've been thinking about getting a new to me truck and I really like the look of the 2011-2014 ram 2500 Longhorns. I love my LBZ as it has been hands down the most reliable truck I have ever had and it is my dream truck. I know all the maintenance was performed on it and that it hasn't been abused or beaten and that it doesn't have to worry about emissions. I also know all of the mods that have been put on and when. If I decide to get a new to me one, I dont have that history on the vehicle not would it be pre-emissions.

I would never buy one. We see so many turbo, 68rfe, and axle joint failures that would make a grown man cry.

this is literally no joke. you have to lift the damn engine and pull the engine mount to get the damn turbo out too.

I did my brother in law's POS 2011 Longhorn 2500 at 6*F in my driveway. Bye Bye VGT and dumbed it down to a fixed vane S362. 24,000mi on that turd. Never had to lift engine or touch a motor mount.

Front end parts are garbage too though spending mortgage money at Carli helped immensely. Ride is shit even with better shocks. Never feels sure footed on the highway to me either. Trans is holding so far but it has been tuned for more pressure and he only has 70k on it so far.

I wouldn't touch one.

I like my Ram , but it’s a g56 not a 68. I swapped my turbo with out doing anything to the mount or lifting the engine, I know the book calls for that though. If you want an auto
Get a 3500 single wheel with the Aisin transmission , our service truck has the aisin trans
And it’s held up great ! As stated the ride and suspension is definitely not as nice , and make sure the exhaust brake works if your looking at a used one bc the actuators go out quite frequently.

that then increases the HG in going. basically pick your poison.

the engine mount having to come out is dependent on year and model ive found. some can be snaked out, others cant.

Friend of mine has a 2016 dually. He swears by as far as power and the Austin. I even had to use it to haul my '93 back home from Amarillo. Truck didn't even know there was anything there.
He did however have turbo failure at less than 50k.

Drive one for 50 miles then drive your lbz then tell me you’re still considering it. Drive my dads 08 for a while while my lb7 was down. Never again unless it was an absolute steal.
