The Cummins is a great motor in a truck that is a massive piece of shit. The Duramax is a great motor in a great truck. When I owned a Cummins I couldn't even drive the thing because it was always in the shop. Now, three Duramax powered trucks later, I couldn't be happier.

Put a tranny in that truck and load up a real tune and see how tempting it is to buy a Dodge.

whats with all the dodge trucks are shit comments?

My comments about the Dodge being a piece of shit stem from Dodge trucks I have owned being pieces of shit. It's not supernatural. Generally guys don't just make up stuff about other brands for the hell of it. When I say that the majority of Dodges I have personally owned and been around/worked on are pieces of shit that is because they are in fact pieces of shit. The Cummins is a great motor though.:thumb:

A few buddies have the CR Dodges, I personally don't think they're that bad... But, it sure isn't comparable to the Duramax's I've had.

could you imagine if dodge didn't have the cummins motor..lol, you wouldn't see too many of them out there!

Could you imagine if Cummins decided to partner with GM instead of Dodge and then they threw a solid axle under it. There wouldn't be any other light duty diesels on the road today.

well im considering swapping over to cummins i have 2 of them currently and a third on the way..and idk i just like the way they are honestly there all 24v's, i just dont know the truck im switching over to is a 3500hd its slow as balls compared to my duramax but that isnt fast either which is where my hesitation for the switch comes from...im having my dually repainted along with new dually fenders sence my workers love to break them apart....i know im on the wront site but if i could get the cummins to the power lvl of my duramax i think i would be okay with it....my trucks are

2004 duramax 2500hd srw-ppe hot+2-stock tranny, lift pump 402hp.almost 700tq(weak cp3)
2001 dodge 3500drw-bone stock extended cab
2001 dodge 2500srw-remote start

It would be like having your girl get a sex change.

Some might think you made the right choice, but those who know would think you're a fool.

I have a few buddies that have 12 valves and 6.7's and the 6.7 pulls really hard with a 472. He makes really good numbers, somewhere around 700.

But join cummins forum and read over there and I am sure it will answer your question....

Here's the tech:

An LBZ with no changes will thump any stock Cummins. Not by a small amount either. And that's 5 year old GM technology. Do a test drive. The LML? Well, let's just say that both Ford and Dodge need to go back to the drawing board with fresh paper.

If you want the "best" diesel pickup engine, it's Dmax, not Cummins. You gain nothing by a swap.
