Thinking about doing something drastic

have been doing some thinking.....

I have thought about removing my lift and going back to stock. With the baby on the way and the wife who is becoming increasingly intolerable of the ride, not to mention the cost of new tires, which I will need sooner rather than later.

I have started a list of what I am going to need to pull this off, unless someone can talk me out of it.....

1) New Front Diff, to replace the one I had to cut the mount off of. ($300)

2) Factory knuckles (Free)

3) Rear Bumpstop Mounts (Free)

4) Factory Sway bar endlinks (Free)

5) Factory axle bolts (between the CV shaft and the diff.) (Free)

6) Factory length shocks ($300-$500 depending on brand)

7) Factory length rear U-Bolts (Free)

8) New front wheel bearing/Hub assemblies (mine are more than likely shot) (~$180 each)

9) Cognito Braces and new Pitman/Idler arm (which I have to do either way) (Braces are $200, I have the other parts)

Is there anything that I am forgetting?

Thanks for the input. -Jeff

Jeff...I'm assuming your truck is 4WD...What is the difference in length between 2WD and 4WD?...I have the factory shocks from both my trucks, if either will work, I'll give them to you...I might even have some near new Rancho 9000s...Chris

I believe the fronts are totally different, the rears should be ok, but this is just an idea at the moment, thanks though, I will let you know. -Jeff

just a idea but sell your lift locally or whatever and then swap out that guy diffs/shocks etc and that shoud save you alot right there. but as far as the height difference depending on how much its gonna cost you to UNDO everything basically you could buy the Power Bars to help the height thing and then play around with some different shocks or take some pressure off of your torsion bars to help the ride.
I dont know just a thought . See ya

Power Bars??? -Jeff

I'm with Jeff.
I had the power steps on my last truck. They tuck up tight against the lower body of the truck, then when the door is opened they drop down about 10-12 inches. (The step lower/raise in about 1 second, so you don't have to wait on them!) By the time the door is opened all the way, the step is down and ready to be stepped on to get into the truck. I did have a problem once when I had been in some really deep mud, then it froze, and the step did not lower. (I had to go to the car wash to hose the frozen mud off, but it never froze up from just rain/slush freezing.)
