Thinking about ditching my 68mm cheetah and buying a s475 setup from a member here. I tow a boat in the summer, loaded it's around 8k. Probably will never tow any thing heavier. Running a Precision ML converter that's pretty loose. Just looking for some idea's if it would be a wise move.
The only reason I'm considering it is because he's got everything in a kit for $2300 and I figured I could almost get that out of my cheetah, rld y bridge with egr delete pipe, and afe driver side piping.
How about that 71mm Precision?
I tow 5-8k weekly on a billet s475. Raised shiftpoints and a slightly different driving style and it does fine. Unload when it lights its NASTY!!!
Was dragging my boat around the other day with my s472 with no issues what so ever. Granted its a slight bit lighter, and you have bigger tires. But I had no complaints. It drove perfectly normal, egt's barely got over 1100.. Only spot is if you hit a hill doing 55 with the converter locked, your going to have to bump it down one, because it gonna lug pretty bad there. My old charger I could usually keep the tranny locked up and just power up the hill. No harder to make it drop a gear then your smooth sailing.
My truck now at 75-80mph is right around 900 egt's. Not sure if it's sold yet, I haven't gotten a response back.
