My sentiments exactly! How OSHA allows that free climb amazes me. Regardless of the climbers experience shit happens. Any slip ,hand foot bird crap dew gust of wind etc etc etc he's gone! There is no second chance!

Takes to much time to use some type of safety tether? I'll tell you what he'd be dead a lot longer then the climb with a safety rope.

They could have had rings welded or even a permanent cable with a sliding catch like cliff or rock climbers use. Sounds simple enough to me.

x2 they deff could have planned better for having to service those.

Speaking of climbing,

Ever see that young guy ,he was on 60 mins not to long ago, he rock/cliff climbs free no rope he holds all kind of records? No where near this height be he's a crazy Mo'-Fo' too.

His fingers and hands are like crazy big from doing it. Lives in a van traveling? Anyway he's nuts too with some of the climbs I've seen him do.

I agree with the osha requirements we have to be tied off after 6 feet and when we fly a building they will not allow any time of free climbing when we set up the rigs
