can the thermostat housing be rotated 180 deg.
the bolt pattern looks to be symmetrical at a glance but im not sure on the sealing surfaces because i can see under the outlet pipe

( YES I KNOW THE OIL FILL TUBE WOULD BE IN THE WAY OF THE OUTLET PIPE... easy fix for that)

but if some one has there motor torn down and wouldn't mind taking a quick look at it see if it could be rotated it would help in my next tweek of my intake tract.

and to save a little time if the answer is no it cant,
would any one have a dimensional drawing of the sealing surfaces of the thermostat housing?

your proably right but that requires BUYING a part lol im a cheeps a$$ and would rather spend 5 days mechining a part out than spend 50 bucks to buy something all ready done lol

the 4500 and 5500 trucks would also use the same as a van ,yes?

just looked at our 5500 at work , it uses the same as the 2500 and 3500 trucks

yea apears to be that way looking at it closer on the LBZ as welll side to side are equal DS to front are in line but PS to back is offset a bit maybe .125 to .25 inch
o well , woulda made to much seance for GM to make it reversible

if no one has dimensions ill crack it open this weekend possibly and take my own then spend a fiew days with the CNC router at work. then spend a fiew more days reworking the plumbing just so i can move on to tweeking and upgrading my y bridge pipe wich ultimately fixes the problem i have now of blowing out the o rings and fixing the restricted flow of the stock pipe

Here is a pic, again, LMM but I think its the same...
The bolts will go in the 2 center holes but not the other, the bottom one in the pic is close, but it still wont go....
