Does anybody have any old wagon lifts from the farm or elevators? We scrapped ours years ago. Does anybody know what I'm referring to? I always thought the frame would make a good gantry.

Back before they had gravity flow wagons and hydraulic dump boxes you would run the wheels of your grain truck or wagon onto the lift and it would lift one end of which ever to dump the grain into the pit.

our local elevators had them. but got sent to scrap piles.

a big elevator put in a complete semi dump. the whole scale would raise and dump you faster than if you dumped yourself. only problem was heavy haulers would come in w/ a covered wagon and 60-70k #s of grain and have a 50k steel coil chained down in the middle of the trailer. it scared them to dump them. so they took them out.

out in OK we have the wagon dump, not an elevator anymore (i saw it laying behind the barn on its side, but all th wood was rotted).
With some work the dump (hoist) might still work
