So myself and three other guys have started a wager in the office, the first one put down a 1000 Ft*lbs on a dyno. The winner gets the pot with a $50 buy in.

The Rules:
First one to produce a dyno sheet at 1000 Ft*lbs wins, no ties.
Water math and bottle are ok
Actual values, not corrected

The Field:
Reg cab lb7 - stock for now has 60 over injectors and 42 over cp3 on the bench going in on days off.

4 Door long box lb7 - 60 overs, 42 over cp3, EFI live, head studs, water meth, airdog 165, intake horn, CAI, 4 inch exhaust

2011 6.7 powerstroke - Stock for now has H&S delete kit on the bench install coming shortly.

lb7 extended cab short box (mine) - EFI live, CAI, 4 inch duals, gmax 5 kit, suncoast triple disc TC, fass 150, already at 465 HP and 900 Ft labs

Kind of interesting the 3 guys that own lb7s are mechanical engineers and the guy with the ford is a civil... weird.

I dont think the long beds tranny will take it. He has a core on the bench, just waiting to get the cash for the parts.

I think the 6.7 needs to get some water meth, the last article in diesel power regarding the banks water meth system looked pretty impressive. Everything I read regarding this engine says the turbo is the limiting factor and with a very hot tune can break 1000 ft*lbs. Should prove to be interesting.

Once the ALLISON is locked in, a stock 5 speed can handle 1000 ft lbs no problem so long as it stays locked in and doesn't shift. Theres been sled pullers running twins with stock trannies because they take off and stay in one gear without shifting. If they shift the ALLISON will bite it, but locked in on a dyno it will be fine. Personally I'm not willing to shorten my LB7's rods to try and break 1000 ft lbs.

Stock 5 speed will slip long before 1000 ft lbs in 5th gear.

Pullers get away with using 1st-3rd on a stock tranny with big power for a while but they are in 4lo with lots of tire slip.

That 6.7 psd makes some good power be ready. But 1000-1100 ft lbs is the limit for stock rods. Even at higher rpm.

I thought a 1000 ft*lbs was OK for OEM rods, do you think this could really make the po mans low compression hole?

Some have shortened at 400/800, others have made it to 550 and over 1200. It's all a crap shoot. Personally I can't afford to go into my engine, so I stick on the side of safety and don't fuel much over stock until I break 2000 RPM's.
