I know I am not the only one that has a nice ass truck sitting in the garage and has a pile that I drive every day. And the sad part is my hoopty is probably more reliable than my truck.

One day I will have another dmax but until then I have a 2001 Furd Escape with 130k on the clock. Its a base model with terrible paint and a trashed interior, bald tires, cracked windshield, bad front wheel bearing and the rear hatch wont open. Its my wifes old ride and I kept it when she got a new car. I need to fix it up but for some unknown reason all my money goes to the truck that never sees the road:rofl:

I will post pics later but lets see who has the best hoopty on the board. And post some pics:D

Texas Y'all
I was just thinking about this today, cruising in my 2000 cavalier, thinking wow, this thing is a pos, yet i have tons of money invested in my truck, which has no motor in it right now and is just setting! Im in the market for another dmax, just looking for the right deal, but i think ill still keep the cavi, keeps my insurance low, and you cant beat 38mpg! Even though the black paint is ate up, and the dash in in tons of peices, and everytime i hit a big pot hole the glove compartment flops down.

With fuel creeping up to $3/gallon, I may just keep driving it to work after the truck gets finished.

My beater is a 93 S10. It is a regular cab 2wd with a monster 2.8 v6 and a 5 speed manual trans. It is a base model with manual locks and crank windows. It has A/C, but it doesn't work. The paint is pretty much dead, but the body is mostly straight. It got me around while the truck was down, and it does a pretty good job of hauling parts. Usually gets around 22 mpg, and it a lot easier to maneuver than the truck.

not my current hoopty, but one of the past ones. You should have seen the looks when I drove this thing home. 1974 ford 'Super' van 3 on the tree:thumb: got stopped by the police the first time I drove it. Cop said he saw my new plate and this van and thought this just isnt right so he stopped me:rofl::rofl:

Call me crazy but how many of yall if given the option between driving the hoopty or the truck on short trips around town will choose the hoopty because its just easier. Its amazing how much crap can fit into something when you dont care about the interior.

I always choose the hoopty and make the wife ride with me. Dear, short trips are hardest on an engine, since we dont care about the crash van lets take it and save your car the wear and tear:D

 My wife hates the escape. She drove it for 8 years but now some one has to be dying for her to step foot in it. That's the way I look at it, why jack up the mileage on something your still paying for. I dont crank my truck up unless I know it will be running for a while.

Im finding this to be true....but since the interior is actually still in pretty darn good shape I put towels down first. Roni would kick----my----ass if I got grease on the seats.

I don't have a pic of the S10, but here's a pic of my bike that I try to ride as much as possible. At 48 mpg, it is more economical than the S10.

Its just too easy to park and I could leave the keys in and no one would steal it.
