While folk drool over the Z/28 code, ZL1 code, and SuperSport Camaros of the 1960's, not many know of the 1LE cars.

The 1LE cars has special modifications made to them to give them an advantage in Production roadracing and AutoX. They dominated much of Box Stock and Production racing from 1988-2002.

For 2013, the 1LE option code has returned, with beefer swaybars, better shocks, better tires/rims, trans cooler, short throw shifter, etc, etc. It will be under $40k, and pull more than 1g lateral acceleration stock. MANual trans hardtop SS models only can get the option.

This will be on my look at list for sure for that money. LBZ is paid off and in the shop most of the time. I'd love this Camaro to add too some and cruise in GM finally makes some stuff we want. About F'N time...........LBZ is just stored I guess I meant not getting fixed.

I still think the 98-02 Camaro's are still the best to date. I like the new ones, just not a huge fan. As far as classic goes the 70-73 models are so beasty lol

Wasn't the last one the one the cops used also, with no badging?

Some had no badging some did.

The Camaro police versions were coded B4C. Lots of 1LE parts on the B4C's but all B4C's are automatics.

I ordered a 2002 SS hardtop with the 1LE to replace my 2000 SS. But it was "lost" in transit, and perhaps was one of the last 1LE's made. We think a GM management type decided to redirect it. That's how we ended up with a Vette.

In other Camaro news, it would be nice to order P/N 20129562, and keep a few on the shelf for spares.

In order for Chevrolet to build a 2013 "Drag Only" COPO Camaro, they cannot give it a VIN number. So it is listed as a GM Performance Part instead.

Sadly, only 69 will be produced, and most will probably never see a dragstrip.

Sam Pierce bought one with the option to get all three available motors so they could run all three classes that the car is legal to run. My best friend who is a salesman at Sam Pierce Chevy is going to race the car all this summer in the nhra events all over. Very cool thing that GM is doing with the customers of these cars is that the buyer has the option to assist with the assembly of the motor in Detroit. This car should stay at this dealership for a very long time and will get raced in many events. You are right sadly only 69 will be produced but this one will be raced as it should. I will try and maintain an update for this car and get some pics when it arrives.
