Hey Folks, tossed the serpentine belt on my '07 chevy 2500 when the top idler sized up (nursed it home 12 or so miles), replacing both idler pulleys and tensioner as all are original. Is there a way to do it without taking the fan shroud and such off? Or better yet, what does it take. Thanks for any information.

There are two 18mm bolts on the engine that hold the fan shroud. They are on the passenger side engine. Remove those and the 13mm (I think its 13mm) bolt by the oil fill cap and you can move it out the way just enough.

Just make sure the rubber gasket thing that goes around the fan shroud is put back in place when done

TX of course
I don't think I removed the shroud. I know I removed the bolts holding the shroud to the engine IE the oil fill tube, but I did it when I had the truck tore apart for a turbo and cp3.

You can do it with the inner shroud on.. It's just a pain in the ass..

It's a lot easier if the fin next to the tensioner breaks off
