My dad has a 08 lmm ccsb that is highly bone stock, has a dpf back banks kit (dont ask) biggest waste of 600 ive seen but whatever it got rid of the megaphone, my dad bought a dpf delete pipe and i was wondering what everyone would do for a tune, he doesnt want a dsp5 switch in the cab  so let me know what you would do? i have pulled stock tune and am going to send it somewhere to probably get a dsp5 tune. just wondering if their is anything else you would do at the same time

If he doesn't want a DSP5 switch, he can get a really good all around single tune that will kill all the DPF codes.

At the min turn off the EGR in the tune. Up the speed limit. Maybe do a GPS run for the speedo as mine was out 5 km/h factory.

Like said a good all around tune will work for most people. You don't need 5 just some like 5.

ya the problem with doing to much is its his work truck so he doesnt want something that is all hopped up, lol typical old man, i plan on getting someone to build a tune, and with the price of a single vs a dsp5 i thought it made sense in case i bought the truck one day :thumb:

Well then you could have it set up that the base tune be the all around tune and just not put in the switch it will stay in the base tune. If you buy it add the switch have all 5 tunes.

If you cant talk him into a tuned ecm or dsp,( i know im gonna catch hell for this but i have madness in my methods), you can probably easily talk him into a Banks power pack with the iq monitor. It can be used for all your gauges and later down the road manage your efi live software(tunes) its a great monitor/gauge and its simple enough the old man can use it
there are other options that will do almost the same for less, but for joe blow who wants all the gauges and tow safe stock vehicle drive it forever tunes, i like banks.

See i had a gut feeling he'd bite on Banks, sell him on the fender sticker.lol.
For real tho, banks is pretty trusted, and prerty safe. I dont think banks has a dpf delete? Idk? Call them would be my best suggestion, the IQ is a pretty adept devise that has a ton of capability, from games and movie capability to logging 1/4mi times, tune managements, gauge display, milage tracker, gps, they really tried to make it an unbeatable product. I think its pretty legit, most times you get what you pay for, with the IQ you get more.
no i dont work for banks, i havent been drinking any kool aid i just like some of banks stuff alot, his intake w/super scoop and the IQ.

Does your dad want more power or mileage or what? You could just pull the stock tune turn the codes off and run the dpf delete for now. I'm going to delte the DPF and egr now that the warranty is up on our work truck and just run the stock tune.

Delete his DPF shut off the EGR all that with you own V2 no need to send the tune anywhere and pay for what your old man wants with the truck, at most talk him into a DSP2 and build a stock tune/turbo brake tune if he does any pulling truck probably has more than enough power for him as it is stock. No need to spend money on Banks or anything like that when you've got a V2, sneak some power in there for him if ou think he really needs it.

I can send you my stock tune with just DPF deleted and EGR if you'd like.

Tune it yourself.. there are plenty of people to help. You can have 1 nice well rounded tune. Delete all that smog junk and bump the power just a little.. some work on the vane tables, timing and fuel pressure tables should give him an increase in mileage as well. Take it SLOW, ask questions, and you will be fine :thumb:
