Well I removed all the stuff out of the way and pulled the passenger side injectors

I have one injector I will be replacing because it looks like crap

The cups look clean all injectors came out easy so I don't think it is a cup on this side

The nozzles had a bunch of soot and I cant see the holes is that normal

Anybody scared about replacing LB7 injectors no need to be It could easily be done in a weekend with simple tools

I am still working on the other side so if it looks like the side I took pictures of the heads need to come off

On the other downside I think I need to change all the injectors.

The budget is getting smashed to smithereens so I need to think about selling the turbo or just replace the driver side injectors since the passenger side is a piece of cake to take apart and take the best looking ones and put them on the passenger side

if u need injectors you can get a reman set for 1200, one year warranty im on my second set

How long did they last

I have 164,000 balance rates are good but there looks to be alot of crap built up in the inlets. Which with 2 fuel filters and one being 2 micron I don't see how the hell that is possible

As for the garbage in your inj. inlets.....did you blow the V/C's off before you pulled the injector lines? the upper V/C grommets are a feast for crap to sit in and as soon as the line is pulled out, the crap falls right into the inlets. I learned that one the hard way along time ago.

I tried to blow them off and clean any debris away.

Some of it I know has been there for a while like the injector I took the pics of

Should I just use brake cleaner or something and a brush to cleanout all the inlets and high pressure lines

i thought the same thing about the crap in the inlets of mine when i changed number 7. but its from when you undo the injector lines the corrosion in the ends falls right in the inlets. i was like " what the HELL are my dang fuel filters even there for, but then someone told me and then it made since. we taped a straw on the end of a vaccum tip and sucked it all out. ghetto as hell but worked!

well 3 nights and six hours later I am still trying to pull the passenger side valve cover

First off quick disconnect fuel lines are a total oxy moron and never buy pos OEM brand quick disconnect tools they obviously never tested them because they don't work

I also highly recommend removing the bolts in the trans mount and jacking to tilt the motor forward for the driver side. Also remove the heat shield on the fire wall. I didn't do these things and stripped one of the allens for the valve cover. So now I need needle nose vice grips and or a chisel and a BFH to take care of this.

The good thing about only working on it two hours at a time doesn't give me enough time to get really pissed off

Kevin, hammer a 12pt socket over the head of the stripped allen. A ball-end allen bit is nice to have. And the return line bolts like to strip too;)

I don't think I can get a straight enough shot to do that.

The ball end's always seem to make stuff strip easier. But maybe I will pick some up.

I really dont know why the lover valve cover bolts just don't have a normal 10mm bolt

i got 6 stripped return line banjo bolts lol.

you gotta make sure tat you use a regular allen bit for tem return lines, ball end will strip them.

ball end is nice for the driver side valve covers

Just make sure you don't brush the tips. I'm sure you know this though.

Well I fought with the valve cover for two more hours and ended up breaking the valve cover on accident.

So does anybody have a spare driver side lower valve cover for a lb7 they want to sell.

Here are some pictures of the sleeves on the driver side.

Sorry for the crappy pics my camera battery went dead but it looks like I for sure have a blown headgaket

Also I got the bowl of spaghetti(wiring harness) out of the way.

What fuel lines need to come out of the way? The rails and there are lines going into the heads for fuel return.

Then I guess it would be the Intake Y Bridge, power steering pump,Alternator and A/c Compressor and their brackets.

Then exhaust manifold to upipe bolts and a $hit ton of head bolts and then the heads would come off.

Oh yeah is there anything special I need to do before pulling the pushrods and the rocker assembly? I know I need to make sure all the pushrods go back in where they came out of.
