Tristan I know Ron recommended to pull a trailer to try and soften to lockup as well if you havent tried that??

i towed my buddys prerunner out to one of our ranches last weekend and when towing a trailer it doesnt lockup as hard but there is still that sperratic lockup at certain rpms and tps even with the trailer and then when the trailer is unhooked its back to hard lockups unless im at about 5% throttle and just creep up to 50 and going downhill...then can barely feel it...i think once i get this table from cindy for efi ill be able to soften it and fine tune it better...then wont even need to take out valve body but will have to run a tranny tune...

Yeah personally I dont like to mess with the ally TCM that much as EFI doesnt have a whole lot of options. I prefer hard parts as you know whats been changed, and can replace it if necessary. Bad TCM tuning can cause big breakages. If you did your own transgo jr. you could definately swap out the spring in the f solenoid with no problems

So far I have found that you cannot soften TCC with valve body. It must be done at the pump level.

So after testing the spring you suggested doesnt work? Thats the only difference in VB from mine to Chads and mine locks way softer.

I've tested a lot more than just the spring which is the same spring as the A/B trim valves. It cannot be done there. Your Alli and operating system is a lot different than Chads even though they look the same.

Do you think programming is the cause of the 1058 brutal lockup or is it the converter itself? So that spring that I thought would originally help doesnt? I dont have anything in the TCM to soften it either. Are they 6 speeds more prone to have TC lockup issues?

I can fix the problem internaly 2 different ways but am waiting to see if EFI can do it. Tristan is running the PI ML converter and that converter has never hit hard on tcc on any truck period.

I've had both converters and the ML never hit near as hard as my 58.
