Depending what tracks you run. Our local tracks require the Snell sticker. No sticker or race.
I've never had a problem. I used it at Indy. But I'm not taking any chances this year. Looks like I'll have to get a new one. I found a few for under 100 clams. I also see a ton of guys wearing full face MX helmets.

If you ever come across a Peter Fonda, "Captain America" SA rated helmet, let me know; I looked for one a few years back with no luck...
Anyway, I had a good experience with Apexperformance.net They have open faced SA rated units for $140 shipped with a free carry bag (it's really nice actually)

Is it required at all tracks to wear a helmet? I'm wanting to go to a TnT here local just to get a feel of how fast my truck is now.
Depends on track I guess. I can run at Beech Bend and not wear one doing 108 but at it's sister 1/8 mile track you have to have one to run an 8.50 or quicker.

They are good for 10 years + grace. Grace is allowed because it takes up to a year for new helmet cert. In other words, M2010 hit the shelves last fall.
