New bezels from the dealer have adhesive tape to hold them on, in addition to the clips. If you're breaking the bezels off just by opening your tailgate, then your handle is bent or worn out.
Or like my truck, the previous owner smashed the tailgate on a trailer and fattened out the tailgate... worked without the bezel because it didn't have one, I put one on and it rubbed like crazy. but half an hour with a couple lenghts of 2x4 and a large C-clamp and a 2 lb persuader and now the tail gate works fine. although I need a new tailgate trim cap. Idiot also jack knifed the in bed tool box with a goose neck trailer. Need to buy a stud welder and hammer setup to pull things back and either line the bed and rails or get bedrail caps
