In March had a tree limb take out my Back Rack and bed. GM dealership did the repair using a brand new bed. From day one the tailgate which is original, now is constantly shifted to the pass side. It binds in the body below the taillight scraping the paint on both parts. If I shove the gate to the drivers side when 1/4 Open it will move, but it returns to the pass side quickly. Returned to the dealer to show, his answer started with “well you could...”. Wrong answer! Any thoughts on what’s the issue and how to correct?
Pics wind load from phone of course...

If they won’t fix it maybe a washer to shim it over? I had to do this on my old titan which had the easy lower tailgate that always went to one side for some reason.

Not sure if it’s the same as the newer trucks with the easy lower gate but this is what mine looks like

Lutzjk913 - brand spankin new GM bed!

LBZ - They recommended a washer as a shim, but with the shaft it rests/rides on not being round, I can't imagine what would work. What did you use? Also my set up looks like the pics you posted.

2004LB7 - the origional plastic parts are still present at each hinge.

I'd bet the frame has a slight twist to it. Try loosening one of the bed to frame mounting bolts at the rear of the truck and lift that corner slightly. See if it gets better.
