Tail light question

Well it seems that my original 2001 tail lights are showing age BAD. So I thought I would finally switch to the 03-07 Tail Lights. Just wondering what exactly I would need for the switch. I know Jonathan Casey has a 2001 with the 03 Tail Lights. Can you guys help me out here?

Oh btw love to see some pics of 2001-2002 Dmaxs with the 03 and up Tail Lights :hug:

If I'm not mistakin they are interchangeable between 01 and 07 I bought some led ones of ebay I wanna say for 160 something. I like em they are super bright.

What about that extra light towards the corner of the tail light that the 03 and up trucks have? Would I have to splice the that 194 bulb socket into my harness?

To be honest I think the guys that I know that have done it just left it out but I'm not exatly sure.

they fit. I have a write up on DForum with pics and how to. not here. but a little filing to accept the GMC plugs and they fit right in. no need for the bottom light. here is a pic of mine

It says 01/02 so I'd be careful if you want the all red ones which are 03 and beyond. I have 03 Lamps in my dually and I like them alot. With the harness it is direct plug and play.

It was a Chevrolet dealer online . Place similar to GMpartsdirect but not them. Wish I could recall if I do I'll post up

I have 03+ taillights in my 01, I bought 03 harnesses and plugged them in under the body, IMO they look alot cleaner with no orange, atleast on my black truck.
