I don’t understand some of the brand loyalty you guys have. You act like GM gave you a damn truck. You had to pay for your truck and GM doesn’t give a shit about you. Just ask anyone with a 5.3 that’s drinking oil.

Has nothing to do with loyalty for me. I've owned them all and my favourite albeit not fancy truck I had was my '97 Powerstroke.

I just have a dislike overall for the Ford's since the 6 liter came out. And FWIW if you want to talk about trucks drinking oil, my '17 6.7 work truck burns 2 liter of oil a week as do 3 others at work.

You aren't adding anything to this forum move on to Power Stroke board. I have a sorry ass Power Stroke that my Dmax runs circles around, to say nothing of the cost of maintaining the friggin ford

What’s wrong with coming on here and talking about things with other enthusiasts?

Bustem has had some badass trucks over the time I’ve known him.

I’ve had the pleasure and opportunity to own a lot of trucks. Some better than others just sharing some information. Dont worry bud after this conversation you won’t be compelled to buy a ford. I think this may help if there are some gm designers/engineers lurking wanting to know some real world accounts.

^^Lol is it possible to get a smoother ride?
Get motion sick riding in my Old Man’s truck... has a steady bounce to it on the highway
OP how is the ride in the new Truck?

I looked hard at a mega cab, but I just couldn’t bring myself pay that much for a dodge.
We had some as work trucks in the early 2000s damn good running/pulling trucks but they just fell apart on the inside.

It was really good stock now it’s leveled on kings and rides a touch better than stock. I did have them valve the shocks a little different, because roads in south Louisiana are like a 3rd world country.

I took a mega home for a month. My buddy owns a dealer and he had a demo. I liked the Truck and it ran good but I couldn’t past the ride and the seats.

6.7 cummins we have in the bucket trucks is decent, emissions issues, but hardly the trucks fault. Body is a hunk of sh*t, what a rattling creaking pos. Oh and the trans blows goats as well...

6.7 Ford, pretty decent truck overall, I could drive one. Typical emissions problems.

Duramax, we hardly ever see them, just normal services, next to no emission issues...

Bustem I can't blame you, i like the new fords as well. 6.7 seems to be a solid platform for ford:thumb:

I lost a couple fleet accounts to dodges. They hate them. All they do is bitch about them when I talk to them.

The 16 Cummins has 44k on it and no issues it’s been deleted for 20k. I have the work truck model, so bare bones but it does have quite the shitty interior.

I got to say alot of people have brand loyalty which is kinda a weird thing to do since it is a corporation. This last f150 I bought was the first ford I have ever owned. It has always been GM for trucks and cars other than a VW bus and Jetta TDI. I don't think any corporation cares about you or me. So I'm not to sure what the argument is over. I got the shaft from Chevy which left a very bad taste in my mouth but it doesn't mean ford won't do the same thing on the F-150.

While they may not care about the individual figures they sure care about the numbers.

If you want to be honest, they all make good engines. They all have their own faults. It's more down to the styling, options and pricing then anything else

I don’t think it’s about brand loyalty as much as experiences people have had with fords being pieces of shits. Same goes with dodge. I’ll stick with my GM trucks but not so much brand loyalty, but because I’ve owned both of the other vehicles and they aren’t as good. More lemons.

I hate ford and I have no reason to back it other than it was just a family thing. I did own an 84 ranger I turned into a class 7200 truck years ago though. It’s hard to make a truck get 20” of wheel travel so easy and cheap as those whoop scissors (I beam suspension). It was going to get a Chevy engine when the rules changed though (more reliable). I just can’t make myself look at a ford and see myself drive one. Hell I have a hard time doing that with any new truck though lmao

My truck doesn’t have all the fancy features the new trucks get but I can’t say I miss/need them. The rear seat vents are definitely a nice deal though specially out here in the summer. Glad they didn’t do away with those before 02
