I need some advice on my suspension, I have been getting to the track with my 09 and have it down to a 13.00@101mph. The truck will break loose at the line over about 10psi of boost depending on track conditions, I am considering Caltracs and or adjustable shocks. Would this help the truck hook up at higher boost levels, or should I bite the bullet and look at a set of drag radials? How much more can I hope for over a 1.7 60'?

Ok I know they will help some but what I am asking the more experienced racers is, what is the most I can expect on my 60' times with a stock motor? If I am about at the limit already it is not worth spending the money untill I upgrade the motor for more hp. I do use the search for every question I have before posting.

Are you clamping your overloads now? I used caltracs, and gained about a .05 on my 60'. I then put in a straight centerlink and cut off .10 off my 60'. My best 60' was a 1.68. That was also on Nitto 420s @ 28psi rear and 30psi front. I know guys have cut 1.5's on the setup I just stated. Track prep makes a huge difference too.

The best I ever did on street tires was a 1.71 60'. With drag radials I am consistently in the mid 1.6's with and occasional 1.6 flat. Also have track bars, sleeves and braces.

What tires are you running now? Do you have your front lowered? Tires are a big factor. I would clamp the springs and try that. 1.70s is pretty decent for nothing done yet in my opinion

No, stock suspension except for HD tie rods and a DHD center link brace

I cut consistent 1.69 60ft on nitto terra grapplers, with a best of 1.66. This is with stock shocks, a dhd brace and sleeves. 28 psi front and rear.

same dilemmas to consider for you and everyone else....

Bro, BLKLMM "IS" an experienced racer;)

The wife needs to work on that, I could do some weight reduction if it comes to that. Race weight is 7140lbs with a 1/4 tank of fuel.
your wife is the driver? what is she saying the truck feels like off the line?
how are your T-bars set, what's the toe setting at when you're at the track? how is the truck tuned, what mods have you done (turbo, injectors, ifs stuff etc) what are you doing to ward off weight transfer/lifting the front? have you tried a "soft launch"

lots of variables to look at, for something every duramax that hits the strip deals with.

Stock 17" Michelin MS2's are what are on it now, I lower the front end all the way down when we race. Ok I could give that a shot.

I raced mine yesterday. My firestone all terrain 10ply tires did not like anything over 8psi of boost. Had them down to 30 psi. Had no hop at all and was smooth out of the hole. Pretty sure they was keeping me from getting better 60ft times. Way to hard of tire for the track in my opinion

I was not implying he is not, no offence intended. I was just saying I was looking for advice on my set up that I could not find with search and was trying to ask the experienced racers instead. I guess it did not come across that way.

Yes she is bracket racing our truck, at about 10psi of boost it digs and has great traction. Over that depending on track conditions it will spin and start hopping killing her time. I lower the front end is all the way down at the track, toe setting?

The truck is tuned with Robs 230hp max effort on a stock motor w/lift pump, new down pipe and 4" exhaust. Don't know about weight transfer but the front does not seem to be lifting much when the truck is launched

Are you kidding a woman doing a soft launch:roflmao:
