Got an 08 with mini max and exhaust with dpf delete .still has egr. Stock air filter is good. It feels like if takes 4 or 5 seconds to spool up on a Mild tune. And when cruising down highway it won't downshift going up a hill and kick out black smoke...not thick but enough I don't think its beneficial. Is this normal to be really laggy on stock turbo?

When I had my H&S xrt tuner, there was no lag it just got down and went! Never had any shifting problems. Hopefully someone a little more knowledgable will chime in.

Try putting an EGR blocker plate in. I did an LMM without one and it bellowed black smoke out at WOT and from a dig, put the blocker plate in it with the same tune and it cleared up to not even a haze at WOT and only a puff on a dig.

I have an 07.5 and it does the same exact thing. I have the h&s xrt tuner on mild. I'm curious what it could be also.

Could be the way the defueling is setup on the mild tune thru H&S. Have you tried it in your other tunes? Also if you want a permanent fix sell the H&S and go EFI Live :thumb:

Is it smoking while your waiting for it to spool or is it no smoke? Could be a dirty MAF. pretty common
