I've Been waiting on a Suncoast Gmax 6-3r and a 1054 converter for a couple weeks now. They are out of pistons and friction plates for the Gmax kits. Anyway my converter has gotten bad enough that I have parked my truck and decided not to use it until I get the tranny rebuilt. The problem is my business relies on my truck so I am in a hurry to get it fixed.

I spoke to a couple different people today and decided if I cancel my suncoast order and go with a PPE stage 6 and converter I could have it here by the begging of next week get the tranny fixed and get back to work.

I figured I would post this on here and see what everyone thought. Is it worth waiting the possibly couple weeks for the SunCoast??

Thanks

Lots of people out there running PPE. If I was in your shoes I would go with PPE, I haven't heard anything bad that would make me only use suncoast

If the mods in your sig are all you are running ppe will be more than fine. Also ITW has what would work for you. Idaho transmission warehouse.

Trans builder will be the key. If you can't wait for Suncoast, buy the stage 5. If your builder only knows how to install clutches, wait for SC.

Sorry you've had to wait this long. From a manufacturers stand point we would never want to have our customers wait this long for anything, or to the point of canceling their order to go with another company. The fact of the matter is that we blew threw a whole years worth of steels in about 6 1/2 months (demand went up extremely) On top of having to send a bunch back to the factory to be examined. We have been told that the new shipment will be in sometime this up coming week. If you can wait, i will do what i can to make it worth it for you, I don't know which one of the sales guys you spoke with but if you call and ask for me I will modify your ticket accordingly to help out. I don't get on the phone there as much as i use to do to other roles/work on my plate but if you ask for me specifically, i will take care of it . This goes for ANYONE on here as well.

Mike could you elaborate on this a little please. Are you saying that the Suncost kit is more comprehensive on the hydraulic side including more modifications other than the clutch packs? I am planning a build most likely over six months out so I am waiting before I become a pest to you but get prepared it will happen. If I could afford it I would make a vacation out of having you build it would love to see what became of MCAS El toro I was stationed there in the eighties but pretty sure won't be able to swing that. Just have to build it my self.

The PPE kit uses basic ALTO power packs, and many times you will need different pressure plates and selective steels to get your clutch clearances correct. I know when I did power packs in mine, the C1 and C2's were way off. I had to modify the C2 stack to get the clearances correct, and get a different apply plate for the C1 to get enough clearance there. The SUNCOAST kits are setup and mocked up before being shipped out, so there is a much lower chance of needing different apply plates or selective steels to get your tolerances correct.

Did they take your money? That's the part that pisses me off the most. They put their back order notice up the day after I ordered my Gmax 5-3 kit and torque converter and the notice clearly says will not bill. So here I sit -$4000. Even if I WANTED to look elsewhere, I'd have to wait for them to return my money.

Have you looked at your account? Nothing gets billed until it is ready to be shipped if your order is placed by phone, if you ordered it on the website, the funds would be charged. Call me i'd like to look into this. If you'd like the refund say the word and i can make it happen.

My bank account? Or my account on suncoast? Suncoast account the order says (Completed) and my bank account reflects a large withdrawal from Sun Coast Converters.

ETA: and every time I call and say it's frustrating to have fulfilled my end of the bargain (cash transaction) and I have nothing to show for it (wtf are my parts...?) I get the same frustrating answer. "Yeah, I know. I hear ya. ....."
