TrentNell;318535 I would call the builder and ask what he set the clutch clearances to especially the c2's and c3's and tell him about your issues and see what he suggests after all if there is an issue he will be the one fixing it . Did he not test drive the truck ?[/QUOTE said:
Sounds like the usual, C2 coming on too hard. With all of the clutches added to the c2 pack and the apply pistion modded the C2 clutch pack becomes overpowering.

Easy to fix/avoid during the build if its setup properly !

IMOP the builder should be the one checking not the customer

Agreed. I have spoken with Suncoast, Mike L, Rob, and my trans builder. We are looking into it further. We have came to a unanimous decision that it is the C2. The first thing suncoast thought of was the torque converter locking up at the same time as the shift. We ruled that out by trying it in tow haul. Since tow haul has it locked up from 2nd gear on up. We did that and it still did it. So we ruled out that. We then ruled out the trim valve ball and the springs since it does well in all other gears. I have gone in and reset the up shift TAPS for the 3-4 power+base several times after about 20 miles inbetween each time. Still does it so now we are back to the work bench. My installer is going to pull the transmission and check the C2 and make sure everything is right. So i guess that means i will be with out a truck for another day or so.

Common mistake that some builders do is stack the C2 clutches upside down with the thick apply plate on top. Seems the wave plate throws their thinking off.

It should be spotted on the clutch clearences if that is done though Mike ? are they just not checking ? As you know , the aftermarket aply plate for the C-2's has a "lip" on the bottom side and if the stack is put in upside down there will be next to zero clutch clearence because of the lip is now hitting the "cover" instead of facing the aply piston ?
