just got my sc iv havent installed it yet . is this kit better , should i not install my kit ?

The current stage 4 kit is still a good choice and will hold all but the fastest trucks , even on the fastest trucks will hold for a good while but requires refreshing every so often once above the 800+hp range . On Dimitris' last trans we got 50-75 passes out of it , 7000 lbs 10.8-11.0 range

For a 6 speed, is a transgo as wise choice for buying time and wait for the technology? 500hp only no dd and 6500 pound truck.

It wont hold , it might for a bit will fail . Unless your planning on going way big ( 800 plus HP) why wouldn't the current kits fit the bill ? a clutch is a clutch unless your blowing through built transmissions then there is no benifit to the newer clutch design JMOP

Well, my current transmission stock has held 500+-hp at wide open throttle up over 100mph. I just thought that the Transgo would last until I had some more money to actually build the trans. I am just wanting the best of the best for the transmission so I don't have to redue it.

Put it in!

Its only going to help.

And when ever you get it built you'll need it any way, one less step!

Will the gmax hold a 500 horse 2wd sled puller or even a 500 horse DD with the stock convertor, I dont think the convertor will hold up in the sled puller even he just pulls 4 or 5 times a year but I was gonna throw my idea out into the crowd anyways what is gmax suppose to hold as far as power to the rear wheels

I am pretty sure they say it will hold just as much and more meaning if you back it with one of their converters. The factory converters like to twish the mounting tabs. So it has to be after market. :thumb:

Hey Duramaximizer. If you plan to put in a Transgo shift kit and nothing else IMHO that is a waste of time. To use all the items in the kit you actually have to seperate the bellhousing that has the (input shaft and the pump) from the rest of the trans to get to the C2 apply piston to mod the exhaust orifice's and the C2 spring pack. I would think if you are going to do that much work you might as well build it up its already on the bench tore apart:confused: I think if you only wanted to to do a small Mod to try and buy time maybe a TransgoJr and a Tripple lock converter if you plan to go big once you upgrade the rest of the trans.

Now I suppose if you are just looking for the upgrades of a TransgoJr you could only install the parts of the normal Transgo shift kit that are for the valve body and shelf the rest until you do the rest of the build. The TransgoJr you just replace trim valves and drill to small holes in the separator plate no need to tear the trans completely apart.

Not what I wanted to hear......but I have to pay that dang Uncle Sam this year. After I get my taxes done, then if I have the money, I'll do the complete trans i guess. Back to work. :threadjacked:

The full Transgo shift kit does not apply to your LMM or any 6 speed really , only the Transgo JR . So only 2 options Transgo JR or build it .

Talk to Mike. Tell him what you want out of your truck. You can bet that whatever he hooks you up with, be it a SC kit or something he "Cooked up", it'll work, provided it's installed right.
