Two 12 in mtx slim line in a sealed box with a Memphis 1000d amp and they sound great to any music

Right now im running an Alpine head unit and Hertz components with a JL 400w amp running them.
This summer I am planning on installing 2 or 3, JL 13TW5v2 with 2 or 3 JL 600w amps in a custom box behind the back seat. And I hope it is loader than the 1 JL13W7 in my EC S-10.

Card board, a tape measure and a few hours of your time, not to hard to layout. Then spend a couple more hours building it. Built one for mine since I couldn't find a box deep enough to fit my Audiobahn 10". That thing was a monster, would cook your ears if you ran it at half of its capability.
I switched from that to a pair of Arc Audio D4's behind the seat. Those were perfect, not too much, not too little.

This 10kicker solo baric and the kicker ported box fits perfect under my back seat. I have the amp on the other side.

Even though I know they said jl when I bought it this box actually says vantage on it. Maybe that's why I couldn't find a picture that looks the same. I liked it better than fiberglass anyway. Too bad it holds the seat up in the nbs crew cab.

I agree with baggedlb7 on the sub choice here. Those jl 13's are sick!!!

I saw them subs and they are bad as hell and i love jl all the ones i have had were awesome like the w7, wow is all I can say. Those slim w5s were very pricey though. But they would be great in a confined space like under the seat. I really thought about building my own box as well.

No its hiding behind the seat. Its enough bass to give me a back massage in the front seat and not here the passenger when they are yelling lol. I almost hardly ever turn it up any more. Its just reminants of my high school/college days.
3 of those subs in the same box would sound better. The box isnt big enough for the air space needed.

I have the Boston Acoustics SPG555. It's going to go in place where the factory console is, I just ripped mine out and will be custom building a fiberglass enclosure. I rather keep the sub in the center to spread out the bass. The Boston Acoustic sound quality is amazing, hits hard and clean with no distortion whatsoever. It does not miss a beat either. I'd say it beats the JL Audio 13W7 in my own opinion since I have heard both JL and Boston, much more sound quality wise.

i just put 2 10 rockford prime r2s in my truck, and they were only 60 a piece and all i can say is they hit pretty hard. Im not in highschool anymore so didnt need to have a gigantic system anymore and these do a great job. Running off a pioneer head unit with a fosgate 600.2 amp
I just recently acquired a JL Audio stealth box with a single 10" W3 sub in it. I haven't got it in yet, but I'm looking forward to a little added bass to my music. I'm really glad that I will lose no under or behind seat storage when I install it.
I can't say much I run Alpine 12" type X 2 of them with 2 Alpine MRD1005 amps. When I have the amps turned up it feels like it is crushing your chest. I run my amps at about 50% to keep the sound super clear.
See signature for system information. Very happy with it, did the install myself. I shopped around and bought some stuff from Crutchfield, eBay and Amazon. Customer service from Crutchfield is great. I have one rear door speaker I need to trouble shoot; I think it is a wiring issue and I need to mount the bass control knob. I plan on adding sound deadening material also.
