I have had head gaskets done under warranty. I bought studs and had them installed while it was apart. Truck is in now for a bad injector. Problem is that it will not come out, so they are going to take the head off the truck.

So I assume the studs will be good for re-use, I want to verify how they should be re-torqued. Also what lube can be used.

thanks:thumb:

Use molybdenum lube

yes the studs are reusable

iirc it's 125 I'm 3 stages but if you do a search under head studs with mcrats name he has the procedure posted

I have always used GM procedure for the tightening sequence

Are they using a injector pulled to try and remove the injector?

I thought maybe the tightening sequence would not require the step in TQ since it has been done once.

Not sure how they are trying to get the stick out. Last contact I had, I was told they were getting a new head! Not real sure, but will be there monday to get a feel for what is going on.

Getting old driving a cummins around!:D
