If it only happens during hard acceleration in big tunes then it is most likely the converter having trouble locking up. This is the reason we switch to billet triple discs converters when building a trans. Don't be alarmed, I drove mine with the shuddering for 2 years before it got bad enough for me to yank it out...

I just had to let me wife drive and tell her to pass someone. That shudder worked like a charm for me :):happy2:

My LBZ does this on the higher tunes with the banks economind (came with the truck). Feels more like a computer cutting power to me than a mechanical failure. I'm ditching the banks as soon as I can afford an edge.

Sounds like the banks already did

By trouble I mean too much opportunity to build more power than the stock parts can handle which means more money I have to spend. If it's easy for me to tinker with, I will. I'm trying to keep this truck relatively stock and reliable. I can avoid my banks problem by not driving like an idiot.

I plan to upgrade to EFI live as well. I havent modified the truck since I got it. Guy before me did some tinkering. Hence the banks exhaust intake and tuner.

Same here on the mods. The guy before me must have bought one of those packages with exhaust, programmer, IQ readout, and cold air intake. I ripped the muffler off as soon as I got it home.

As for that pause under heavy throttle, I'm just going to take it easy until I switch programmers.

How did the sound change after you took off the muffler? Mine still sounds really strange. Like a mix of wheels spinning and air escaping. Really strange sound. I do love how loud the turbo. I hope removing the muffler doesnt drown out or change that.

Same only with a little more throat to the tone. I left the cat on mine for now. You can still hear the turbo fine. I just couldn't stand it sounding like an air leak with no real exhaust tone so the muffler had to go for sure (within 24 hours of getting the truck home)

Yea i hate the air leak noise! Did you remove it and just replace with straight pipe?

Yep. A little over 2 feet of 4" pipe and two 4" stainless band clamps. I was going to attempt to salvage the muffler and sell it but it had rusted to the pipe so bad I had to cut it. Once the cutoff wheel came out it took about 20 minutes to do. I'm doing the same with the cat this weekend. I was going to leave it but I've got to get my EGT down.

I solved my defueling issue by getting rid of the banks tuner. Runs like a raped ape in a banana factory now.
