Most of us use our race tunes as the base file..but as you said i do not see why it resort to the whole file?? Mine just normally used the limiters ect.

thats what i'm getting at i could see limiters and such but i too use my race as the base tune and i couldn't see it totally reverting unless the switch or pins in the ecm were jacked.

if hes getting the same PW as he does on his race tune while its cold and hes on a different slot something is up...

Thanks for the responses... yes this is an intermitent issue. It just started last week when it got real cold. Otherwise the whole rest of the year it works fine.

Right now I can put it all the way to the left which is supposed to be stock everything and it's still acting like its in position 5 all the way to the right. It has my lope going and it runs like a raped ape in my supposed stock tune position #1

Are you sure the base is your stock tune????

Have you asked Brayden if he set it up this way for you?

Do you have a multimeter, you can check voltage coming off the switch..

When it works normal, does the tune all the way to left run like stock? or hotter than the rest?

Thats the way I had Brayden set it up. Position 1 all the way to the left is supposed to be all stock file. Once it does this again I'll check the voltage with my meter to the switch.

I guarantee that it's not the tuning because it works normal 99% of the time.

^^^ Why would it be the tuning if it does work correctly 99% of the time? And still no one can answer why if something is messed up is it defaulting to my race tune? Everything I have read is that if there is an issue with wiring or switch it should default to base tune which would be my stock setting.

The way you have to do it to put the tunes in the order you are asking for is write the base tune as a race tune then swap in the DSP tables from a stock tune; otherwise you will have limiting tables holding you back when you are on your race tune setting on the switch. So as has been said there must be an adjustment table or table the truck runs in while cold that has more power than the stock table the truck would normally operate under when warm.

I understand what you are saying... but when the truck does this my DSP switch no longer works... when it is that cold (less than 20 degrees or so) it does just start running my "race" tune no matter where I put the switch. I can put it in my "stock" or I can put it in my "tow" position and its still on my race tune no matter what. Thats what I can't figure out.

As stated earlier, it resorts to the base tune. If your knob is all the way to the left, that is not the "base tune" that is position 1 on the dsp tables. The base tune runs on the last setting. Which is the ONLY setting that can work when your ect is at the level it is at when you first crank the truck until it gets up to operating temp. Best thing to do is call fleece and then get back to us, because we are all pretty much saying the same thing here.:dontknow:

The Fleece switches from left to right are: Base, 1, 2, 3, 4
The latest SoCal switches are: 4, 3, 2, 1, Base

As has been said your truck is resorting to a table or tables that are only in the base tune, tables that don't change when you move your switch. Since your base tune is a race tune with certain stock tables swapped in (the same tables that would normally be found on a DSP tune) when it resorts to the "cold" table it is going to a table from a race tune - the position of the switch will not matter for that parameter.

Call Fleece, if it's their tuning they should be able to help you and I know Brayden will (if you can get in touch with him anyway).

That explains a lot. I always wondered why my Race tune was far right, then going in descending order left to right with the rest of the tunes (power wise)...... when a lot of other people have it set up base through 4. I just figured I got a funky switch, glad to know that's not the case.:D Thanks

When the LBZ/LMM DSP5 switches came out over a year ago he started having them made that way. So all SoCal LBZ/LMM DSP5 switches and all LB7 and LLY switches made since then are in this order: 4, 3, 2, 1, Base

The older SoCal switches for LB7 and LLY are in the same order as the Fleece switches: Base, 1, 2, 3, 4

The way to tell the difference if you have an old or new SoCal DSP5 switch for an LB7 or LLY is that the old ones have a white zip-tie holding the wires to the back, while the new ones have a black zip-tie.

Hmmm... ok well I just always thought Position 1 was just the stock tune and 2,3,4,5 are all modified. It's not really a big deal, it's just annoying when it's real cold. Cold motor plus race tune is pretty jumpy especially with a ZF-6 :)
