Straight pipe New Hampshire

My friend just bought a 06 duramax. We were wondering if it's allowed to straight pipe his truck in New Hampshire with out getting in trouble.?

Been straight piped in nh for 5 years no problems. but my 4cyl Kia got me a loud exhaust warning. On a side note I have a stock front pipe that's been deleted in southern nh

Do you have emissions inspections where you live, if so they will be looking for the DOC/Catatlytic converter and a few other items. The link below states what I have to though every year and I kinda sorta have a DOC for visual inspection. It is my understanding after several calls to Magnaflow and speaking with two different guys in the tech department that the OEM DOC/catalytic converter flows better than what we are lead to believe, the OEM muffler is the largest restriction on the stock exhaust.
