Alright guys i need some input. I am pulling the trigger on an 11" Pure Performance kit this weekend. I was going to go with the rear four-link setup as well. I will be towing a little bit and was wondering if this was a good idea. The guys at PP said it should be ok as long as it's not something crazy. The heaviest thing i will tow is and John Deere Utility tractor with a fairly heavy tandem axle trailer. I think it would be awesome having the whole truck 4-linked but do't want to compromise too much. It will still be used for everyday stuff and i will need it to be functional as well.

Spend a little more and get the ORU kit, it's much better. My friend has the Pure Performance kit on his LMM that Norcal did and he is not happy with it at all.

The poor quality. Ball Joints are all worn, brackets bent etc. It's a 08' LMM with only 9k miles on it.

Another member here and on other forums "bigredhd" didn't like his kit either. I drove his truck and I could see why, he endend up just trading it in for another truck.

I will be runnign 38" MTZ's.

If you get the 15.5's you won't have much of a turning radius as the tires rub. You will be better off with some 13.5's, iirc Toyo has them.

Just giving you a heads up on stuff from what my close friend has had to deal with.

I had a friend that installed the PP kit as well. It was a PITA to install and the geometry and instructions sucked. They didn't ship the kit complete and he had to wait to get the rest of the parts. I'm not sure if it was just his kit but it was as if PP didn't even install it on a real truck. It was pretty srewed up and half ass. He had to call them a lot and no one could answer the questions he asked. Not happy to say the least. I would spend the extra coin and get the ORU kit like metioned above.

With an 11 inch kit, I would think a 38 would be on the small side also.

Thanks for the heads up. I have spoken to some guys that have run this kit and the steering problem has been an issue. I contacted Fabworx. They did the cover truck for Off-road magazine and they said the guy was having the same steering probs becasue he was running 15.50"s as well. They sent him new control arms that were longer and they put a bend in the arms so the tires won't rub. I thne spoek to the owner and he said he would do the same thing for me. I agree with you guys the ORU kit is awesome but for a little over 4k for the front and rear coil-over kit you just can't beat it ( I am buying FOX 2.5 coil-overs form a different vendor for about $1800). The ORU kit is $18k. That's a little to rich for my blood. And I already have the AAM dodge axle which i only paid $350 for. Thanks for all your help and if you know anyone else that has this kit and has problems or doesn't like it let me know. I am not buying for a couple days...

How did thsi guy bend his brackets? Was he jumping it or was this from daily driving? So the Ball joints are poor quality? How much are quality joints. I am getting this kit really cheap so i could probably afford to spend some money on good ball joints. Thanks

well it's for an 08 body style. The fenders run a little small. I have seen two trucks running 11" with 38 MTz's and it looks great. Both have had steering problems but PP said they would take care of this for me. I hope this works out. I'm starting to get worried now.

i am the one that LBZrcks is speaking of. if i were in your situation i would either get the ORU kit or just get a regular bolt on CST or cognito

The steering was scary loose. iirc it was from the pitman arm they supply mostly.

Did he have the dynatrac hub conversion yet and slip yoke eliminator? I am going to run the EMS hub conversion or spin tec converison which should make steering, handling and will also increase MPG's. I will also be running a custom steering setup w/ hydraulic assist steering, I will also be adding gussets to the brackets for extra support as well as limiting straps and bump stops. From what i have researched, this kit serves as a good base to start from. The kit is not as complete as the ORU kit and alot needs to be done to make this kit complete and function properly. Having said this, i can afford this kit for a fraction of the cost of the ORU kit which will leave me plenty of room monetarily speaking to modify this kit to work correctly.

i have alreasy spent as much $$ as the ORU kit and it still is not as durable. i still have some mods to make, and i have the dynatrac hubs and ram assist steering.

Why not just go to a real offroad fab shop and have them build something? I've never understood why anyone would even consider spending $18k on a kit.
