Since Thanksgiving, I took 2wks off for Thanksgiving to visit family, another week for Christmas to go out of town and vist family. Well, took my efi v2 with me to Midland to race my nephew, but forgot to bring computer... Well.. last weekend Wayne came over and I went to buy another license for him so he didnt have to buy the whole efi v2 to save money.... Well, I have a white box, reg. card, cables, and no v2.....
Only thing I know to do is check couple relatives pawn history and hope they pawned it... Been gone since Thanksgiving and just now finding out its gone.
Now, momma gave me the ok to buy another v2 when I get my income tax back, but I dont know what to do with the new v2. Will it just plug in and read and do everything as the other or do I have to do some unregistering? Im asking if the tune in it only works with my original v2 or will it work with the new v2 also? I did register my original one with efi so Ill call them and report it stolen. I just trying to see what the process is when you already have a tune in ur trk and havta buy another v2...
damn, it might have 10-15 reads on that v2, still brand new, for whoever got it.
Oh, and my gold gasser truck has a tune in it from my original v2...

Kat, looks like Ill be buying another v2 from ya in March

That sucks. But if whoever actually knows what they have and try to use it, they're screwed. If all the licenses are used up and you report it to EFIlive, they'll be caught when trying to get more licenses, sice you have to give them the serial number to the V2.

Hopefully you get it back. Good luck

turn it into efilive, they can lock it so they can't buy licenses. Contact EFI Live directly and your vendor. EFI Live is great to work with, just explain your situation. :thumb:

:( If you want I can report it and have it locked so at least they won't be able to add any more licenses.

Ya, you need the SN off of the registration card. Hopefully, they didn't get that too.

Pm me if you have any other questions, I have been down this road before.:(

Yes, I have the reg card, cables, and even the box with all the plastic, but not the v2. This is why I think it was taken to be pawned... I did use both licenses, one on my white truck and one on my gold truck.

Thanks Kat, I looked on efi live and looks easy to call them myself, but thank you for the offer.

Thanks for the replies, I didnt know if my truck will work to put another v2 on it, when the other tune is still on it and not in factory form.

I called to Midland for some peeps to look around for me, just waiting to see if it magically appears before I get it locked... thats a several hundred dollar lock up!!!!!

Im soooooo glad my wife is finally "ok" with the new purchase of a v2 and also glad its not going to affect my tranny upgrade in March-April

I am pretty sure you can just go to help > register and then add the new V2 to your PC. There is like 5 license tabs. That way if the new one comes back, it will still be registered.

It will be no big issue getting a new V2. Just make sure to update the firmware and everything after you get it.

If they lock it, and it suddenly shows up, I am pretty sure they can unlock it. In the mean time, it'll discourage use.:thumb:
