stock turbo bark

Yes. Make no mistake. It does take its toll on the bearing surface in the turbo as sure as water is wet. It may not go right away (as in BOOM), but the charger will live longer and a happier life in its map with out being reversed at 100K+ rpms. Heres my new 3" pre I/C pipe and turbo flange. Almost done. I tried the Blowoff on it today (prefit). Now a few more parts and a little bit more welding.

Can you put a blow off valve on the lly with the VVT charger? I want to do anything I can to prevent the turbo from going BOOM!!

No info that I've found yet KB. I just wanted to make a bigger hole for the hot air to pack into so there would be a better supply after the I/C (same dia tubes on both sides with out the overhaul). The dia differance is pretty amazing when your not choking it down. I'm a firm believer in the blowoff for the life of the turbo. Sure is cool when it blows off at around 50+ psi. Armed with that info, I wouldn't be a good and fair tester.

Is there any feedback regarding the reduction of stall, with the addition of the induction overhaul or mouthpiece replacement? IOW, simple before/after observations.

Maybe Johnboy can give us an observation from his experiences?

The bigger the charger, the worse it is (more boost pressure to blow backward through the charger). Not sure it would make much of a differance.

Question: Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I am thinking of getting twins. I would like to get a bov for the stock turbo on a account of it barking a lot and dont want to damage it too much. My question is, how hard is it to transfer it once I get the twins? Is it welded on? thanks

anyone got part #'s on the BOV? Or where to get one.

If they work so good how come I never see them on any LLY or LBZ's?

there is a guy that made a wastegate a blowoff valve by using the exhaust drive psi and boost psi to popoff when the drive psi is lower than boost. the chassis shop brings back memories when i used to go to silver lake sandunes alot. i have never seen that place ever open though

I saw that they are $660!!!!! I also found a blow off valve from the chassis shop. It's a 1 5/8" BOV. Question is are they all the same? Can I use this one on a duramax?

Link: http://secure.chassisshop.com/partdetail/C76-150/

It's about $200. Mush cheaper if that will work on diesels. Thanks again guys!!

Anyone know about this BOV from the chassis shop and if it would work on the dmax engine? Barked it again today but that was the first time in a while. I've been trying to drive in a way that doesn't bark it.
