I was reading the OCT Diesel Power last night and saw the article on the Dmax vs. a 10 Camaro. They took a stock LMM and put a PPE tuner on it and ran a 13 sec @ 103 mph 1/4. Same time as the stock Camaro.

I have a LLY with exhaust, modded CAI, EFI Live and I cant cut anything better than a 14.2 @ 94. They didnt list the trucks '60 time. Maybe I dont have as good of a tune as I thought I did or maybe I am just that bad of a driver. I'm not putting down PPE tuners. They are great, I just thought with mods that I could beat a stock truck.

The LBZ has a better fuel system than your LLY Plus a better tranny , get a lift pump and trans ( didnt chech sig whether you have one or not ) and it would be even if you not running a 12 , JMOP

Even without a lift pump you should easily be in the 13s, but your trans is going to hate life - as I'm sure the LMM's transmission did. With a trans and lift pump your truck should be in the mid to high 12s and the LMM would also be in the mid 12s - both with the right tuning of course.

John your only problem is the stock tranny. Put a Suncoast in it then you can turn it up. You will get into the 12's then I believe. Hope to see you at SGMP this weekend.

That article in Diesel Power was BS that tranny would be fried in a week. The DPF would be clogged. I don't see running that time without a lift pump as well.

I thought I did have it turned up. At the race in Gainesville I was running the hottest tune that Pat gave me. Suncoast will be my next mod though. I wont be at SGMP. Going to the East Coast Nationals ATV deal in Albany. I'll be there next time though. Make sure you post your results. Good Luck !!

I agree about the trans and DPF but you can get LBZ's and LMM's in the 12s without a lift pump.

How?

I ran the best of a 8.4 @ 82 1/8th with mine with no lift pump. That's mid 13's correct?

Rail pressure dipped low @ around 21-23,000 PSI in some cases.

I ran a 12.95 @ 101 with no lift pump on Dustin's tuning.

And that was before I talked him into launching it hard and in 1st gear without any crazy weight reduction - and he's not the only one ;)

Try looking at the fuel pressure regulator current table in efilive.

Usually the table does not get into the last few mm3/sec cells where the regulator is always open becuase fueling is capped at 100mm3 on LLYs. So you should be able to tell what cells your hitting in that table when you replay a log while looking at the tune tool. Then change the max cell your hitting to the max (or min?) current on the table so your fuel pressure regulator opens all the way up when your at WOT.

What table are you referring to?
