I am looking into buying a 2011 LML and been reading all the horror stories about the CP4. I see the kit that Fleece sells, I don't have $1800 for a kit but i have seen some CP3s even refurbished on ebay for like 3-400. Would their conversion kit with a stock cp3 be fine? I actually plan on getting a FASS lift pump to make the CP4 last a little while longer anyways then upgrade to the cp3.

If your not looking to make big power a stock lbz cp3 will do just fine. They'll support mid to high 600s if healthy. Don't know much about the eBay cp3s tho so it's a shot in the dark on that one.
If I wouldn't have gone with a 10mm the sportsman or cp3k would have been my next choice. For the price of those two vs a stock pump I'd go with a sportsman.
Also keep in mind ANY CP3 that has had fuel run through it and removed is now considered a core. WAY to many have bought good running CP3's that were removed, but sat for a few months, then seized up because some moisture got into the CP3 or debris, and it caused a BIG mess. So any used CP3 should be considered a core for most purposes.
Mine from GM was around $600 plus core. I was in a time crunch, so I couldn't wait for one.
hate to cheap out but i didn't expect to spend $40000 on a truck and have to immediately put $2000 into it. I am only going to use it for towing a 15,000 5er, and im going to get a mild street tune from Idaho Rob probably 110hp at the wheels. I think after a bunch of reading i'm gonna stick with the CP4 and get a FASS titanium lift pump. What you guys think? Oh and will use lubricant every tank.
No body says you have to do it right away.

You'll probably be fine with the lift pump and running, say optilube in every tank. I agree with what dozer boy said. For every 10 lmls you read about that have had a cp4 fail theyre 100s more that haven't.
