You could put twins on with a stock trans, but there is no point in doing it. Pretty much if a tune is safe for a stock trans you shouldn't have EGT problems and if you are wanting twins for nasty power, you'll need a trans anyways.

It would last for years if you did not want to unleash the twins, but why buy twins if you did not want to unleash the fury.

Thinking about it you would have the smoothest accelerating stock truck in your town.

I couldn't justify fixing something that wasn't broke (to the wife anyways) so I did the twins first. Finished late on a Sunday and took it easy on Monday, limped it Tuesday afternoon. However, that was in November and I have been driving it easy everyday since. I should finish the build on a spare core I had this week (still driving stock trans). Going to be a fun spring though! :thumb:

I suggest calling Mike L, Trent (EPR) , George (Big Dipper) or any others on here to fix you up depending on your location.

I can honestly say that I have over 30k on a 500 rwhp tune from Idaho Rob on MPI twins with only a transgo JR and a Goerend converter on my 06 LBZ. I did buy a core to build sometime this summer though. It never leaves that tune, tows up to a gross of 25K and I'm not easy on it. I beat it like a rented mule.

A Transgo Jr on a LBZ helps.

Us 5 speed guys need to pull it all apart to put the full kit in then you're into like I am tonight;

Done for the night, drum has turned the corner.

Jetty, IMHO get your twins and do something to the trans and have fun.

Especially the last part. :spit::woott::spit:

Twins before trans = scorched C3's and C4's. I had a Transgo jr. installed and it never limped but this is what it looked like when I opened it up a month later. The C1's, C2's and C5's looked like new. This was on Rob's street tune only. 1st and 2nd pic are C3's and the third is C4.
