Steering Play

My truck has developed some serious play in the steering wheel and I'm not sure how to go about fixing it. Bascially the entire front end is brand new less than 1500 miles ago. Kryptonite complete front end (steering linkage, tie rods, uca's, death grip iddler, idler support, pitman arm, etc...) all of those parts are solid with no movement. Only thing that hasn't been replaced yet is the steering gear. It's like trying to drive a damn dodge down the freeway, have to herd it everywhere...

I need to find someone to crank on the wheel while I lay under it and check for excessive motion. But is the Steering Gear common for this? Is it something that needs adjusted on occasion?

If you haven't replaced the steering gear, that may be the issue. Stay away from reman steering gears, they're nothing but trouble. I have a redhead steering box, it's holding up pretty well.

Can be u-joints in steering column as well. You can check that with out a helper.
