I have no data from swapping one for the other, but I've seen no difference in cranking RPM on an LML.

Call me crazy but I think there is an audible difference in the two. And I would call the lml starter 'slower' if I had to describe the sound difference.

More power/torque less rpm?

You can't just say more power/torque equals rpm. So much more involved. There is gear reduction in a starter. Just say the electric motor spins at 1200 rpm and you have gear reduction of 4:1 that will spin the output at 300 rpm but with greater torque. Just like The 3.73:1 gears in your diff will transfer more torque per engine rpm. Without knowing what the motor rpm and gear reduction is we can't say.

Sorry to be OT could not find anything more than Ferm.

To add mote confusion to it, the 2.2 kw for the old and 3.5 kw for the new style numbers were from ac delco. Just looked up the numbers from REMY, and they rate the old style at 2.2 kw, but the new style starter is only 1.8 kw per there catalog. So who knows.
