Well, I broke down and started tearing the truck apart today. I have a few pictures but don't have internet at the house... If someone wouldn't mind posting a few pics, I can email them from my phone. Hopefully I'll have the setup done within a month or so.

So my goal weight is 5500 and 5800... The truck is an 07 NBS extended cab short box. The truck weighed 6700 pounds with everything still on. (rear bumper, spare tire, tailgate, rear seat) so I'm thinking, after loosing those things...plus the weight from 4-linking, I should be close?!? Is eliminating the second battery worth the weight? I would hate to be stranded somewhere bc one battery won't crank the truck over...

ANY input would be much appreciated!

Unless you get one of those bad ass optima batteries with a lot of amps, I would keep both batteries in the truck. I've ran one battery for a while before... But it died somewhat often and I had to get jumped on several occasions. Also, if you run one battery, and decide to go back to two, you will have to get two new batteries instead of just one. Idk why, but our trucks don't like it when you have two batteries that are different ages/conditions. I had all sorts of weird electrical problems when I had and old battery with a new one.

I run this battery

http://totalpower-racingbatteries.com/batteryspecs.php

Stock are 45lbs ish run this as a single and u save over 60lbs plus trays and all the messy cables and such

There are many nice batteries out there for racing....Optima is not one of my choice.

I'm thinking you will save around 120lbs on the spare tire and holder for it.

Another 100 on the rear seat and around 50 for the tailgate.

losing 1000+ lbs is quite possible:)

Yeah I'm really hoping to loose 1000 pounds. Thanks for in info! Thanks for the complements everyone! I ordered the tube adapters for the heim joints, and I have the chromoly tubing ready to go... I spoke with QA1 yesterday, once I have my ride height I'll be ordering my double adjustables!:woott:

Awesome!! whats the ride height going to be at? reason i ask is on my 4 link there is no room for brackets between the frame and rearend (let alone a pencil) or are the bars angling in?
