We have a 42x60. Dang that is going to be nice with floor heat. Put in a drain so you can run a dehumidifier all the time and never have to dump the stupid thing. That will atleast help make it seem cool inside if your not doing A/C. I am trying to convince dad to put AC in ours now.

IDK what your water situation is like but it is nice to have soft water for the toilet and sink, so you don't have to scrub the rust off all of the time, then we have optional soft water to our other faucets/hoses for rinsing vehicles.

Time for an update......... I've been quite busy the last couple of months with our new baby........Barn progress has been slow, but we poured the ratwall just before 4th of July. I'm getting ready to pour the floor, hopefully by the end of August.

That's a really nice shop. Looks very good!!!

I want on about the same size. I want to do a pull thru door so I don't have to unhook the trailor when I come home. Pull in one and pull out the other when I want to go.

I thought about setting it up to be able to pull through, but I rarely tow a trailer and the way this building had to be laid out on the property prevents this from really being done. If I was going to use it on a daily basis to park trailers in, I'd have come up with a different layout for sure.

Love the two tone colors you used,in the last batch of pictures is the first iv seen conerete,is there a footing under each post? Here in New England a 4 foot minimum footing would be needed to prevent heaving in winter from frost,is that not needed in your area?I too had a barn that at one time was going to be a work shop not a storage facility.5 years later I can bearly get from one side to the other.Having a child will quickly change your prioritys and projects after being a dad will take 5 times longer than when it was just the wife and you.Good luck enjoy.

You can also use a frost barrier to save some money, we just started useing it here. It's just some thick foam slabs I have them in my shop.

Footing aren't needed on poll barns as the columns all have a pillar of concrete around and under them.

Looks great man keep up the good work

Posts sit on a concrete pad. The ratwall goes to 36" below grade, code here was only 18". I've dug alot of holes in the winter, and the ground is rarely frozen deeper than 16". I figured 36" would be deep enough to keep it from heaving, even in the coldest winter here. There is 2" foam insulation around the perimeter, so with that and some back loss heat from the slab, I don't think that heaving will be an issue.

4000PSI concrete is $95/yd here

I am a city building inspector and following your pictures everything looks awesome! All I would need is truss specs and LVL data to to do a framing and final inspection. Tell you local inspector it's all good! Just kidding, don't say that. Some inspectors have no sence of haha!

Nice work, I'm jealous.
