Mike do you have anything like this? I am going to put an allison in my ZF6 truck an figured it would be way easier with a standalone controller than having to completely strip a donor truck for all the harnesses etc.

IMHO It will be 100x easier in the end to just do a factory allison setup. There are no true "standalone" controllers for the Allison. Basic rundown:

shifter and column (duh)
cluster (plug and play)
complete trans harness
transmission
crossmember
flexplate/flywheel
shifter linkage
TCM

you dont need any dash harnesses or anything

Correct Ben. There are no stand alone controllers and I do not see one being made in the near future. It is just too complicated and would cost too much to develop.

Yeah its living, i think the countershaft bearings are getting weak, its making a slight whirring noise. I may sell it, but id kinda like to keepi t for my woods truck. I also may just slam an AT545 allison in it and not worry about the electronics at all.

Sounds like a lot of work!!!!

If you decide to unload it let me know id like to have one around even if just for parts, because i'm pretty sure mine wont live forever!!!!!!

remember they have no park, no lockup, no 4 wheel drive, and no overdrive.

If you are going to do an auto swap, I would do a 1000...otherwise just stick with the ZF. :)

Well this trucks pretty much getting relegated to pulling only, a divorced ford 205 wouldnt be hard to gear up. and my parking brake is always set right up. Still tossing around i deas. If nothing else, im going to have to replace the ZF as its getting pretty noisy.

It is not a suncoast 5-6 speed kit. I didnt want to pay 1600$ for 200 less rpm's and 0mpg increase. All you are buying is a 500 dollar valve body and a "hard to obtain" 3rd gen WTEC calibration. My trans is still a 5-speed. I built a mini computer to interface with the TCM so I can shift it manually with the tap-shift buttons if I want to.

As an alternative to my little black box you can also use a 4th gen TCM, but you need the right one.

Don't suppose there is a cheat sheet which will help when looking around trying to find a TCM with the correct calibration ??? serial #, part #, etc...

BTW, would getting this TCM and telling it is from a 200_ year truck help out with making it work with EFI Live?
